At Little Jewish Books, an imprint of Read Between the Lines Press, we’re on a joyful mission to sprinkle a little wonder into every bookshelf — one Jewish story at a time.

We’re here to celebrate the magic of reading through tales woven with Jewish values, traditions, and a dash of ruach (spirit). We believe books have the power to inspire, teach, and bring people together — from bubbies to babies, and everyone in between.

Our vision? A world where Jewish reading is not just meaningful and accessible, but a delightful part of everyday life — full of giggles, questions, and those wide-eyed “read it again!” moments.

When I wrote Bobka: The Dog That Saved Shabbat, I was thinking about the quiet heroes that hold a community together—like the little ones who set the table, the parents who rush to get everything ready before sundown, and yes, even the family pets who remind us that kindness knows no bounds.

Bobka represents hope, loyalty, and the joy of belonging. I wanted children to feel seen in his story—whether they’re welcoming Shabbat in a bustling city or a sleepy town, whether they’ve known these rituals forever or are just beginning to explore them.

This book is a gentle invitation into Shabbat’s glow, meant to spark conversations, cuddles, and a sense of pride in our shared values.

I hope families feel the warmth of Bobka’s tale curling up beside them week after week.

Warmly, Nana Nechama
